Earth testers provide for the measurement of earthing resistance in electrical systems in accordance with DIN VDE 0100, 0141, 0800 and 0185.
Earthing resistance, which is an important factor in the design of earthing systems, can be measured with these instruments. They can also be used for geological testing and for the planning of earthing systems. Interference voltages and auxiliary earthing resistance are continuously monitored. A signal is automatically generated if allowable limit values are exceeded.
The instruments function in accordance with the ammeter-voltmeter test per DIN VDE 0413 part 7, and the indirect-acting measurement technique per DIN VDE 0413 part 5.
