The starters generate the required ignition voltage for starting metal-vapor lamps using open-circuit voltage from the output.

• Asymmetrical ignition voltage with a peak value of approx. 25 kV assures reliable starting of cold as well as hot lamps.
• Ignition-time limiting stops high-voltage generation after a maximum of 3 seconds, if the lamp does not ignite.
• A second ignition attempt can be made by switching off and back on again after a waiting period of at least 10 s.
• An integrated PTC thermistor prevents overloading of the starter if ignition is repeated too frequently, or at excessively brief intervals. Repeated ignition attempts are only possible after an adequate cool-down period.
• Open component design for installation into a housing
• A protective plastic cap is included for covering the high-voltage component on the PCB.
• Complies with EN60926: 1996
