SINEAX SI 815-1
The SINEAX SI 815 signal isolator is used for the electrical isolation of the 4 to 20 mA measuring/supply circuit of a 2-wire measuring transducer. It fulfills two functions at the same time. It provides for electrical isolation and forwards the supply component of the signal, i.e. auxiliary power supply, to the 2-wire transducer, without feeding power to the circuit itself. The signal isolator thus has no auxiliary power supply terminal. Certain variations of the SINEAX SI 815 are FSK compatible. They are used with interactive «intelligent» 2-wire measuring transducers with FSK technology and HART or company specific protocols. Variants with explosion protection type [EEx ia] IIC «intrinsic safety» with intrinsically safe output signal supplement this series of instruments. They can be used together with intrinsically safe 2-wire measuring transducers which have been installed within explosive atmospheres. The signal isolator is available with two different housings, depending upon the number of isolation and transmission channels: the SINEAX SI 815-5 is supplied in an N17 housing with one isolation and transmission channel and the SINEAX SI 815-1 in an S17 housing with two channels. Both instruments can be mounted to a top-hat rail, or wall mounted.
